CHARLTON, Marjorie A. Passed away peacefully at her home in Fairhaven on Monday, June 5, 2017. Marj was born in England on March 5, 1920, and came to Canada as a young child with her family. She was a member of Knox United Church in Peterborough for more than 75 years and was involved with its many church groups including the choir, Brownies, Sunday school, UCW, and as a church Elder. Predeceased by her husband Bud (Harold James) Charlton in 1989 and her daughter Sandra Davidson in 1971, Marj is survived, and fondly remembered by her daughters - Susan (Milan) Heran, Diane Toms, and Brenda (Johnny) DiMichele, her grandchildren - Sandra, Penny, Paul, Peter, James, Shanon and Dylan, her 12 great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews in the Genge family. Marj was District Commissioner for Girl Guides in Peterborough which started from being a Brownie leader at Knox Church. Grandma will be remembered forever through her art, particularly her ceramics and decorative eggs that will be cherished and passed down through generations to come. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Marj's life at the Peterborough Free Methodist Church, 450 Lansdowne St. East, on July 8th at 11 a.m. followed by luncheon 12:00 followed by internment at Lakefield Cemetery.
